The goal was to turn unutilized empty spots into ‘places’. We wanted to make time and space “visible” and “experience able” and connect this neighbourhood to the other parts of the capital, and the idea of designing a symbolic stage occurred. The stage is a one-cubic-metre gabion structure per player made of the sites demolishing material (one cubic metre of Józsefváros). The stages were placed in the “no-places” in front of the dead walls. “Mega-lampions” are attached to the walls, above the stages, to work as landmarks on a demolished landscape. Infrastructure for the sound system was set and instrument and equipment rentals were organised in cooperation with the Kesztyügyár Community Centre. Special benches with speakers were the connecting element of this project and were placed throughout downtown Budapest.
